by long-distance bus line

Ask your landlord about a shuttle service.

The rugged landscape of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains is the perfect backdrop for a dream vacation or day trip. Nature invigorates and gives energy. We give you a few important tips and information for a relaxed stay.

Please change trains and use central parking spaces!

The entire region values environmentally friendly mobility. You can easily reach all excursion destinations by public transport.

Use the parking facilities in the city area. The parking lots of the national park have only limited capacities. Parking outside of designated areas often hinders emergency services and can be expensive.

Attention with the bike!

In the national park area, cycling is only permitted on marked paths. High traffic volume and heavy traffic require everyone to be considerate, especially in the Kirnitzschtal and on the Elberadweg.

Take advantage of the bike transport on public transport and plan your tours in advance. At the Tourist Service we would be happy to advise you on this topic.

Good prospects for early risers and evening owls!

Those who travel earlier or later usually find it more relaxed. Whether it's looking for a parking space or enjoying a view - if you avoid rush hours, you usually get more out of it.

Especially on weekends, it is advisable to switch to quieter destinations and enjoy more relaxation.

Historically and regionally it goes well!

Every journey with our historic means of transport supports the region.

Whether you take the Kirnitzschtalbahn to the Lichtenhain waterfall, take the historical passenger lift to conquer the first few meters of altitude to the Schrammsteinen or take the Saxon Steamship on the Elbe - every journey is a special experience.

Take the guest card with you and use it!

Please remember to carry your guest card in your day luggage. This not only gives you discounts on our offers and in many leisure facilities in Saxon Switzerland.

You can use public transport free of charge with the Saxon Switzerland mobile guest card. So you can explore the area to your heart's content.

Energy to charge!

Bad Schandau has five e-charging stations for cars in the city area. The charging stations are located directly on the Elbe bridge, in front of the town hall and in the parking lots of the Lidl supermarket, the Schmilka district and the Umgebindeshaus 1657 in the Krippen district.

Cyclists can charge their e-bikes in many accommodations and in the Tourist Service directly at the market in Bad Schandau.
